Heeding the Call to Serve....

“was I chosen?’ ‘Such questions cannot be answered,’ said Gandalf. ‘You may be sure that it was not for any merit that others do not possess: not for power or wisdom, at any rate. But you have been chosen, and you must therefore use such strength and heart and wits as you have.”

We held Logan's mission call opening at Dione Hayward's house. There was a boatload of road construction going on in front of our house at the time and there would have been no where for everyone to park. Dione graciously offered her home and we were thankful to accept.

We had a dessert bar where everyone brought something to share. We had a huge map set up so that everyone could post their guess. I put together a movie night basket for the winner.

We got everyone there and had them all place a guess and then Logan proceeds to open a call that kinda shocks us all!

Watch the video to see where he is going!

*Logan's call was submitted on April 3rd.

*Ready for Assignment on April 13th.

*Call Assigned on April 15th.

*Call came on April 21st.

*Call opened on April 23rd.

Cute story about Logan receiving his call on April 21st. We had a feeling it would come that Thursday. Logan texted me from school telling me that Matt Tervort's call had come that day and he was expecting his to come as well. I happened to be in Salt Lake City eating lunch with friends that afternoon so uneasy home when the mailman dropped his call off. Logan was so excited to find out if his call came that he sent Matt Tervort and Jimmy Henderson to check our mail. Sure enough, the call was there!

The Journey to There....

“There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something.”

Filling out the paper work was a short process but the turning them in to the Stake President was made long by the variety of health concerns that came up during Logan's physical.

Wearing a Halter Monitor was SUPER fun during long Show Choir rehearsals and intense soccer practices. He has to wear it for 48 hours to get a good reading on what his heart was doing. It turns out that his heart was in good working order so we were good to go there.

Logan also had to have an ultrasound of his bladder. Sketchy stuff was found in his urinalysis. We got the all clear on that too.

Papers are in and it is time for the waiting to begin.
